We here at HacknMod love fiber optics. ย Besides transmitting data across the world at the speed of light, fiber optics can also be used to create spectacular lighting elements. ย This fiber optic chandelier features wireless controls along with RGB color selection:
The chandelier uses marbles as diffusers at the end of each fiber strand. ย The entire display is controlled via Xbee modules with an Arduino for the brain. ย The chandelier above is a bit rough around the edges, but below is a similar fiber optic lighting fixture weย featured previously.
